Our 10 Faves - Byron Bay Lighthouse Walk

Stretch your legs and lift your spirits with the Byron Bay Lighthouse walk—an essential when visiting the region. We generally like to start at Clarkes Beach carpark and wander up the hill, ensuring to stop a few times to breath in the ever changing yet always spectacular views..... when you get to the Captain Cooks carpark, you can either continue along the timber boardwalk or turn up the roadway to the right and into what is known as The Goat track which is a sandy bush track with some epic stairs for those looking for a bit of elevation or stair training.   The next 'choose your own adventure' option is when you get to the end of the timber boardwalk - either follow the bitumen path down to 'The Pass' beach which will take you via  The Pass beach and cafe then through Wategos (famous for Raes at Wategos) and via the stairs up to the Lighthouse with another option to head down to the point via more stairs.

You can also opt to head across the road at the end of the timber boardwalk and head up the roadway to the Lighthouse - crossing the road carefully approximately 600metres along then up the roadway to the Lighthouse.  With the two options each getting to the Lighthouse in different directions you can of course always opt for our favourite loop ... that way you don't miss any stairs, elevation or more importantly any of the incredible views.

Keep an eye out for whales during migration season which is generally around June through till September.

Reach the lighthouse at the tip of Australia’s easternmost point, where the wind whispers stories of sailors and explorers. It’s a place of iconic beauty and whimsical wonder—a must-do for any visitor.

The Byron Bay Lighthouse walk is more than a hike; it’s a soul-stirring journey into Australia’s wild, beautiful heart.  And, if you want to remember your visit to the Lighthouse why not visit our sister store Quirky Ceramics Collective for one of their vividly coloured delightful Byron Bay themed ceramic cups, plates or teapots!
