Our 10 Faves - The Banya Bathhouse & Kiva Spa

Step into serenity at The Banya Bathhouse on the main street just past The Patch Cafe and before Linen House and Kiva Spa, tucked away in the backlane behind the camping store building and new florist .  Either of these places are your ticket to relaxation and rejuvenation. Immerse yourself in authentic Russian-style baths at Banya, where warm steam mingles with calming herbal scents and you can even follow with a soothing massage or facial, and let the stresses melt away like snow on a sunny day.

The Banya Bathhouse in Mullumbimby was originally a historic 1920's bank building prior to being fully renovated to the modern experential twist on a traditional European bathhouse.

The Bathhouse features a lap pool, two hot mineral pools, a wood-fired sauna, a steam room and a cold plunge.  There are 5 massage treatment rooms and a rooftop sundeck for post-treatment relaxation.

After the Bathhouse, guests are encouraged to stay for a long lunch or enjoy a few drinks with friends. The on-site bar and dining are focused on casual refinement with small share plates and nutritious staples. Wine, cocktails and health elixirs round out the offering — all designed to enhance the bathhouse experience.  More information can be found on the Banya Bathhouse website including bookings and menus.

The experience at Kiva Spa, whilst just one block away feels like a world away once you walk in from the laneway into the lush gardens.

The Bathhouse is warming in winter, cooling in summer and magical in the rain. The  facilities include Hot Hydrotherapy Spa pools, a wood fire Sauna, plunge pool, Hammam Steam Room and several relaxation areas.   They also have some exceptionally talented massage therapists which offer not only standard relaxation and deep tissue yet also kahuna and pregnancy massage options.  More information can be found on the Kiva Spa website.
